Hello! I’m Kesavan Nallaluthan

I am a senior lecturer specializing in entrepreneurial orientation, industrial technology management, and Industry 4.0. With a strong background in the manufacturing field, I have dedicated my career to exploring the intersection of entrepreneurship, technology, and sustainable industrial practices. I obtained my Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Universiti Utara Malaysia, where my research focused on entrepreneurial orientation among manufacturing employees. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in manufacturing at Universiti Kuala Lumpur, focusing on sustainable textile practices aligned with Industry 4.0. Additionally, I am undertaking a Master’s in Education (Pedagogy) at Sultan Idris Education University to enhance my expertise in teaching and learning methodologies. My research interests revolve around industrial technology management, sustainability in manufacturing, and the integration of digital innovations in the industry. I am passionate about advancing knowledge in these areas and contributing to the development of future-ready industrial practices.

I am a Professional Technologist registered with the Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT) and currently serve as a technical panel reviewer in manufacturing and industrial technologies. Before joining Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), I accumulated 15 years of industry experience as a senior process engineer in the research and development (R&D) department of a Japanese manufacturing firm. I obtained my Master of Business Administration from Universiti Utara Malaysia, Kedah, before pursuing my doctoral studies. My expertise spans manufacturing technologies, industrial innovations, and process optimization, aligning with my contributions to academic research and professional development in these fields. Beyond my academic and industry experience, I am actively engaged in professional networks, including the Board of Engineers Malaysia, and contribute to advancing technological knowledge through research, consultancy, and scholarly reviews.

I am a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Management and Economics, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), where I teach courses in strategic management, international business and globalization, business elements, business policy and strategic management, and business communication. In addition to my academic role, I have led several research projects, securing grants such as the FRGS-RACER Grant (RM33,000), University Grant (RM8,000), and Industrial Grant (RM7,000). I have also collaborated as a co-researcher on various local and international research grants. My contributions to teaching and research have been recognized with several prestigious awards. I was a finalist for the Ministry of Higher Education Award (AKRI) 2022 for Immersive Teaching and received the Immersive Teaching & Learning Award at the Anugerah Akademia UPSI. I also won a gold medal at the NALI-UTM Exhibition & Competition 2022 and was a finalist for two consecutive years in the QS Reimagine Education Awards (Abu Dhabi 2023 & London 2024).

In addition to my academic and research achievements, I have provided consultancy for several industrial projects and have assisted both local and international postgraduate students in research data analysis. My expertise includes applying Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS to support rigorous and data-driven research..

I have served as the Intellectual Property and Commercialization Coordinator at the Research Management and Innovation Center (RMIC), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), where I oversee and strategize the commercialization of research-based products and services. In this role, I have facilitated industry collaborations and licensing opportunities, strengthening partnerships between academia and industrial players. Additionally, I have planned and executed marketing strategies, including promotional campaigns on social media and local television channels, to enhance the visibility and impact of research innovations.

I have published and edited numerous Scopus-indexed papers in prestigious journals and have presented my research at international conferences. My work includes developing an innovative teaching and learning approach known as the Three-Pronged Teaching Method, which introduces the Student as Manager model. I am also actively involved in the development of educational materials for MBA programs, focusing on MOOCs and micro-credentials to enhance distance learning opportunities. With my extensive expertise and contributions to the field, I remain committed to advancing academic research and innovative teaching methodologies.
